Power Distribution

The City of Cushing is one of over 2,000 public power communities in the United States and one of 63 in Oklahoma. The City of Cushing generates electrical power and purchases power from the Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA) and is transmitted over a 12,470/7,200 voltage system consisting of three (3) large substation and three (3) small substation that transmits 4160/2400 V. The power distribution department takes care of approximately 54 square miles of distribution lines consisting of 85% of overhead and 15% underground. We are committed to providing the most reliable and cost-effective power as possible and excellent customer service to our citizens.
