Silver Alert Registry:
What is the Silver Alert Registry?
The Silver Alert Registry is a program to provide support to family members caring for adults, afflicted with serious memory impairments such as dementia and Alzheimer’s disease who are at risk for wandering. The program provides families with the ability to take a proactive approach toward protecting a loved one by registering them with the local Cushing Police Department or Cushing Senior Center.
The program is being implemented in Cushing through a collaborative effort with the Cushing Police Department, Cushing Chamber of Commerce members, Alzheimer’s Support Group, and the Cushing Senior Center.
If I don’t live in Cushing, can I still register my senior/adult family member?
Yes, you can register your loved one with our department. With your permission the Cushing Police Department can share your loved ones picture and information with other area police departments, if they are missing.
Can I update my profile more than every year if there are changes? How do I do that?
Yes, you may, however, only information that has a significant impact on policing response will be necessary. Contact the Cushing Police Department if there are changes in emergency contact or address change.
How can we participate in this program?
To participate in the program families can go directly to the Cushing Police Department to complete a “Wandering Worksheet”, Cushing Senior Center, or the Cushing Police Department Website (cushigpd.com)
Is there a cost to the program?
There is no cost to participate in this program.
Overview:
The Cushing Police Department collects specific information about a potential missing person along with photo identification. All information is kept confidential and is to be used in the event that your family member is reported missing.
This preventative action will help some of the most vulnerable citizens stay safe.
Stop by the Cushing Police Department or the Cushing Senior Center to obtain a registration form.
To register:

- Then email it as an attachment, along with any other information you may have that is asked for on the form to the email address at the bottom of the form.
