DOOR HANGERS TO BE DISCONTINUED JANUARY 2021

The City of Cushing will not use door hangers for delinquent utility account cut off notification beginning in January 2021. A Final Notice call will replace the door hangers. The fee for Final Notice calls will be $2.

PLEASE update your phone number so that you can be notified in the event your utility bill has become delinquent. If your bill has not been paid by the due date listed on your bill (generally, the 15th), you will receive one call two days after it was due. Then, if your account is still past due, a second call (the Final Notice call) will be sent out (generally, 24 hours before cut off) that will allow you time to pay before cut off begins. If you need to sign an extension, you may still do so until 4pm the (business) day before cut off begins. Cut off will still be on the 25th of the month or the first business day after that if the 25th falls on the weekend or holiday.

We will send the Final Notice calls out each month (in addition to the hang tags) between August and December to acclimate customers to the new notification. No charge will apply for the calls during the time between August 2020 and December 2020.

Not receiving the Final Notice call will not prevent disconnection. The system being used to make Final Notice calls posts to each customer's account the date and time of the call made. It logs whether or not it was answered, or a message was left.

This decision was made to help protect the privacy of our customers. We are always striving to make the customer experience as positive as possible, and we believe this is another way to lessen the stress of receiving this type of notice from us. We hope you will give us every opportunity to work with you if a difficult time arises with your account. We appreciate you being our customer.
