Street Skilled Laborer

The City of Cushing is accepting application for the full-time Skilled Laborer position for the Streets department. This is a full-time position with benefits.

• Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance work, and operates a variety of equipment in the construction, operation and repair, maintenance and replacement of City street, alleys and drainage rights-of-way. 
• Some knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, methods and procedures used in maintenance, construction and repair activities.  Experience in concrete and asphalt work preferred.
• Graduation from high school education or GED equivalent. 
• Semi-skilled in the purpose and use of general construction tools and equipment.
• Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time; Ability to work safely; Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the public; Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
• Valid State Driver's license and a Class “B” CDL certification with air brake endorsement, or ability to obtain one within the six (6) month probationary period and have a sufficient driving record for City's insurance carrier.
• Applicants must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
