Job Announcement-City of Cushing Firefighter
The City of Cushing, Oklahoma Fire Department is currently seeking highly motivated men and women who are passionate about serving the public and delivering the highest level of professional service as a firefighter. The Cushing Fire Department is a progressive and dynamic municipal department located in Payne County, Oklahoma. The firefighter position is a non-standard, rotating work, shift schedule (nine 24 hour shifts in a 27-day work period, 24 hours on-duty and 48 hours off with on-call expectations), requiring weekend and holiday work. It is the goal of the Cushing Fire Department and the community to provide ALS care to the citizens it serves. Preference will be given to applicants who possess a National Registry and/or State of Oklahoma paramedic license.
HIRING PROCESS:
There will be a written and physical agility test. Those candidates that achieve a passing score for both tests will move forward to the interview process. Structured interviews with a Cushing Fire Department interview panel will be scheduled for those that successfully pass both testing sessions. After the interview those candidates selected by the interview panel will move forward in the process by sitting for an interview with the Fire Chief. Successful candidates who receive a conditional job offer will be required to successfully pass a psychological and medical exam, urine drug screen, and pre-employment background screening. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 18 years of age at time of employment offer
Valid driver's license with good driving record
High school diploma or certificate of high school equivalency
Be physically fit and be able to pass a department administered physical agility test in accordance with the state pension system.
