Professional Biography After a 25 year career in law enforcement, Terry retired as Chief of Police for the City in July 2012. Terry began his next career serving at a locally owned oil and gas supply company where he has served since retiring from the police department.

Personal Terry grew up in Cushing, graduating from Cushing High School in 1987. Terry is married to Casie, a local school administrator, and they have one daughter, a student at Cushing High School. Terry is an accomplished high school basketball referee and has been recently serving at the Division I level as an observer for women’s college basketball officials. Terry enjoys reading, watching basketball games, attending live music events, and working with members of the Red Dirt Media Group to broadcast Cushing High School sports.

Community Involvement Terry was first elected to public office in April of 2013, and sworn in the following month. Terry is an active member of the Cushing Youth and Community Center Advisory Board, Cushing Lion’s Club, Tomorrow’s Leaders, Cushing Hospital Foundation Board, and the North Central Official’s Association.

When asked why he chose to serve, Terry said, "Having previously served the people of Cushing, I had an inside perspective and I knew that our City was capable of so much more. Cushing has all the mechanics to be a great city, but great cities don’t just become great — it takes leadership and vision. I am working with fellow Commissioners to shift our culture from a city waiting for things to happen to a city that works in collaborative effort with its people to create a desired future."
